WHO ARE THE BORDERERS? Songwriter/guitarist Jim Paterson and lyricist/vocalist Alex hailing from Scotland and Ireland but now based in Australia, form the core of Multi - Award winning band The Borderers. They met in Australia at a recording project in 1994 but their combined talents have brought them a long way in the ensuing years. They create original music inspired by genres as diverse as Celtic/Country/World & Rock, and propelled by hard work and raw talent, The Borderers have performed in front of more than a million people in the last year alone! Past professional highlights include performing at the Edinburgh Festival and three Womads - both in Australia and the UK, as well as being the headline act at many major festivals around the world. High profile artists The Borderers have supported include; the Chieftains, Tom Jones, The Fureys & Rod Stewart. The prestigious Adelaide Symphony Orchestra also accompanied them for two tracks on their Christmas CD. The group have released 8 CD's so far and have been included on several compilation albums in the UK and Australia. "The Gathering" was mixed by the internationally renowned English Producer Paul Gomersall (who's also engineered albums for George Michael, Kate Bush & Sinead O'Connor) and this has been their most successful recording effort to date. The Borderers previously chose another Englishman, Chris Dickie to produce "Live @ The Gov" because of his past experiences working with (Annie Lennox and the Pogues). An unexpected success for the band has been with the country music community resulting in several of their songs topping the linedance music charts in North America, the UK and New Zealand. The Borderers have co-written the songs for Australia's latest sensation in kids entertainment; "Ticklish Allsorts" in which Alex also performs. The "Ticklish" stage show crossed the language and age barriers with a very successful tour of Russia and continues to build a strong following throughout Australia.
