S.P.K. (Soldiers Passing Knowledge) is a group of three of the finest Hip Hop artist from Baltimore, Maryland who have their own individual style blending to make a fresh new sound of Hip Hop, which cultivated in to a hip hop album that will without question become one of the legendary albums in music history. S.P.K. started in 2004 when Phillip Taylor (Cypher) rapper/songwriter, Sebastian Clark (Sckrapper) rapper/songwriter, and Kwasi Aska (Kadaffy) rapper/songwriter met freestyling while working at Popeyes. Fueled by a mutual interest in Hip Hop, the three began recording mixtapes. Then through a mutual friend, S.P.K. was introduced to Charles Braden, Owner of independent record label TrueNoise Entertainment, and right away it became quite clear S.P.K. had what is needed to be successful in music; S.P.K. and Charles Braden formed a working relationship then went into Sweat Shop Recording Studio in Fort Washington, Maryland to begin recording S.P.K.’s first album “Who Want It”. By the third song recorded, it was already evedent that this album was going to be very special, and leave an unforgettable mark on the music industry. S.P.K. has a smooth mixture of Reggae and Hip Hop that separates their sound from most hip-hop artist. Though they have three totally different personalities they blend almost perfectly complimenting each other throughout every song. To match the undeniable song writing skills of S.P.K., Charles Braden employed some of the most talented producers worldwide guaranteeing the level will only continue to get higher as each song is recorded. The work that has been put in to this album by all parties involved matched the intensity of the talent which help propel this album in to greatness. They say one step at a time, and with every calculated step that has been taken brought together three of the most talented artist, to work with one of the hardest working men in the industry to produce an alum that will change the face of music. What it comes down to is S.P.K. is a beyond talented hip hop group who love what they do and truly would rather be doing nothing else, and in the process making music that people will and do love. Fame and fortune is great, but nothing is greater than the pure love of music and just to have one person say, “I Love the music you make” makes it all worthwhile.
