Heatwave
Fire & Water bring us their song "Heatwave" which featured on the band's debut E.P 'Cocoon'. "Heatwave" is a sunny, joyful, anthemic pop offering, featuring a 10-piece band - powerful, brassy and buoyant. The Irish duo at the core of the group are just back from their European and American 2015 tour performing over 30 shows in 16 countries. Tomás McCarthy and Clódagh Kearney are prolific gigging musicians whose romance and life on the road as a touring double-act began instantaneously in the Irish heatwave of 2013. The newly engaged couple have stayed true to their motto - "think global, act local" - which has seen them perform to thousands of people both internationally and at home in Ireland, whilst managing to remaining active in their community in Cork. 2015 saw them perform for a 20,000-strong crowd at a water charge protest in Cork city, helping with various different local charity and community-building events, working with Music Generation and dedicating the music video for their song "Just Love" to encouraging a 'yes' vote in the marriage referendum. Their unique and independent approach to their musical journey has seen them share the stage with the cream of Ireland's artists including Ham Sandwich, The Minutes, The Stunning, Aslan, The Frank and Walters, Duke Special, Kila, Jerry Fish, Jack L, Royseven, Gavin Glass, Mick Flannery, McMahon, Leslie Dowdall (Tua Nua) and recently John Spillane and Graham Norton. Their 2015 touring exploits included a string of European dates with world-famous multi-platinum selling artist Geoff Tate of Queensryche and his new band Operation Mindcrime, a supergroup comprised of Simon Wright (AC/DC, Dio), John Moyer (Disturbed, Soak), Kelly Grey, Randy Gane and Scott Moughton.
