Deep Love Riddim
On October 19th, 2007, “Deep Love: Riddim” crossed the Atlantic finding a significant audience in the United States, Canada, and Europe. Originally created in Jamaica, musician/producer Ruel “Chilla” Clarke, “Deep Love” features a cache of Root Reggae’s top artists. Artists such as Natural Blacks, Bushman, and Lutan Fyah. Along with these known artists, upcoming artists such as Cutty Corn, Ras Fraser Jr., Cassafaya, Lion King, torch, and Million Teeth also have the opportunity to gain the publics attention alongside other established Roots artists. Deep Love brings back the live instrumentation of classic reggae, excluding the sound of contemporary Dancehall’s computer-generated sounds. Chilla describes himself as a “trying entertainer”, he labels himself as an entertainer stating, “I'm trying to entertain the crowd, singers do that; dance and perform to please the crowd”.
