The epitome of an artistic trendsetter, CJ “C.R.O.W.N.” Harris possesses the delivery and versatility of a veteran artist, and with the pen game to match. The Florida native’s uncanny ability to lace mainstream sounds with what is often defined as “socially conscious” lyricism enables him to command the respect of both underground and mainstream circles alike. C.R.O.W.N. has proven his talent beyond the booth and launched his music career as a songwriter. He earned his first co-writing credit at the age of 19 on Brooke Hogan’s hit single “Hey Yo!” featuring Colby O’Donis from her second album The Redemption. Although he could undoubtedly pen pop tracks, it was his passion for music and respect and admiration of his forefathers that carried him to the stage. Staying true to his lyrical roots and innovative sound, he burst onto the scene in 2013 with the release of What I Look Like (W.I.L.L.)—an eight song EP that added exposure to the artist then known as Blazer Ellington. This would ultimately serve as the final project to be released under this alias. In 2015 with a new brand and direction, C.R.O.W.N. demonstrated his relentless work ethic and incessant creativity with the release of three back- to-back projects (Snapped, 500 Bars of Summer, and Rise Above Fall) giving fans an introduction to a name that carries the weight of a legendary artist. In an industry that is always looking for “the next”, C.R.O.W.N. will soon be considered the one and only. He’s an artist that you will want to turn up on more than just a Tuesday.
