All Night Long

It's been about 6 months since Chad &Eli's former band, Run Romeo Run decided to take an indefinite hiatus. The unfortunate parting of members Chris & Adam left the two with time to focus on their side project that would soon become their main focus, Cloud Nine. In July of 2012, Chad McMonagle (lead guitar/songwriter) and Elijah Budwill (lead vocalist/songwriter) formed the Pop duo that would later be called "Cloud Nine" The idea for Cloud Nine was to create a fresh Pop sound that would capture the attention of a wider range of audience and be the ideal sound for radio play. With a clear sound and vision in mind, the boys recorded their first single "Over & Out". However, at the same time the single was released, Run Romeo Run's career was starting to pick up, so the project was forced to be put on pause. About 2 months ago, it was decided that living a life without being able to musically express themselves was not going to happen. Elijah and Chad reunited to pursue Cloud Nine and take an entirely new approach to how they would launch the band back into full force. They reached out to old friends, Colton Peters and Dennis Hann. Both members of Universal/XOXO Entertainments "Hey Bombshell". Dennis Hann, a rounded musician with limitless writing abilities for any genre of music and Colton Peters, a multi-talented producer with the commitment level to his production that was beyond belief would be hired to co-write and produce Cloud Nine's upcoming EP. With Eli working in Northern Alberta on a rotation shift, it was tough to figure out a solid writing schedule. Chad, while finishing his last year of high-school made it even more challenging to make it work. Commitment became an understatement of the project. We all agreed that we would create a 5 song EP titled, "Summer Time Love". The writing process took place in South Calgary at Colton's studio, "Opus 5 Studios". A few writing sessions a week took place for about a month until 5 songs were fully written and ready for pre-productions. The songs were written on acoustic guitars, voice noted on our iPhones and sent to Eli. Once each and every detail of the songs were ironed out, it was time to plug in guitars and start the real productions. After spending over 60 hours tracking guitar,recording vocals, and programming electronics, the EP is finally finished. Summer Time Love would tell a story about a young summer love that survives even the toughest of times. Unlike most songs, which focus on a specific persons love story, the EP focuses on a common occurring love theme that happens in the happiest of seasons. Summer Time Love talks about a girl that has driven many miles to spend the holidays with a group of friends in her old city. A young boy who has been living in the same city that the girl is visiting catches himself quickly falling for her after seeing her for the first time. Through the hot summer days on the warm sandy beaches and long breezy nights under the stars, the two would quickly find themselves falling head over heals for each other. However, the inevitable has to happen. The girl is only in town for the summer, so a choice must be made. A single off the EP will be released on July 19 titled "All Night Long" and will be available on iTunes and as well sent out to radios across Canada for possible rotation. A few weeks after the release of the single, the actual EP, Summer Time Love will be released on August 16th. The EP will be distributed to all Canadian radios for rotation and will also be available on iTunes or your preferred online music store.
