"Sunshine" featuring Jonathan Edwards -single

Singer/songwriter Josh Thompson's remake of the Jonathan Edwards classic "Sunshine," is proving Thompson has what it takes to score at radio. The single, featuring a cameo vocal performance from Edwards himself is currently number 34 on R&R's Hot A/C Indicator chart and continues to climb. Since August, 2006, Thompson and his band have performed a grueling 200-plus shows throughout the Southeast, sharing the stage with such luminaries as superstar Teddy Geiger, Backstreet Boys' Brian Littrell, Click Five and Dirty Blonde among others. Not bad for an eighteen-year old who just finished his last year of highschool. His music has been described as "intelligent alt-pop," and was produced by Grammy nominated and multi-platinum-selling producer, David Grow. Josh's passionate performances are both the reaction to and the consequence of his arduous touring schedule. His bandmates create the sinuous, driving tableau over which Thompson's sometimes gritty tenor flows. Thompson, who could have easily stepped into the made-for-tweens shimmering pop pool of people like Jesse McCartney, opted instead for something more adventurous and organic with songs like "Perfect Pain," a rolicking ode to unrequited love, or the Beatlesque understatement of "Almost Everything." To say Thompson is an artist to watch goes without saying. And if his current successes are any indication of where he's headed, then this is one fantastic career in the making.
