The Other Side
The Other Side is the 7th track of Resonance's debut EP, If The Fires They Burn Too Bright. A collection of meditative acoustic tracks, If The Fires They Burn Too Bright was recorded and mixed at Metropolis Studios, London, by Neil Tucker (will.i.am, Black Eyes Peas, Alicia Keys). Full of real words and real feeling, it is perhaps like nothing else you’ve ever heard, but maybe just like what you’ve always felt in your soul. Opening with the question 'when I speak so soft can you hear me?', The Other Side is the final surge into the EP's themes of desire across a distance, knowing the self, and the pursuit of art. 'Tell me why do I keep losing myself? - a question universally understood. 'Can you stop all this projecting, so I can just see clear?' - a desire sung from the heart. The Other Side takes the listener into the finale of the EP's passion. And at that step, she leaves you: 'think I just made it... to the other side.' About Resonance: Resonance. It’s what happens when something moves at its natural frequency. Radhika considered a number of paths in life: astronaut, inventor, archaeologist, jet pilot, physicist, time traveler. From the age of 7, she received voice coaching by correspondence course from Grammy Award winning singer and musician, Bono, best known as lead vocalist of Dublin-based rock band U2. She picked up the course at Chapter 5 and continued through her years at school, and then as an undergraduate at Oxford. After a few years as a lawyer in the City, Radhika decided to leave the corporate world. She started writing songs, finding a well of music and words flowing from deep within. She inevitably found her way onto a stage with a guitar, and Resonance emerged on the London music scene. Resonance has played on stages in the UK and worldwide, including at an underground musicians’ collective in Paris, the Hard Rock Cafe in Sydney’s Darling Harbour, and the Raffles Hotel in Singapore. In 2013, Resonance made the shortlist for MTV’s Brand New Unsigned 2014. Resonance is what happens when something moves at its natural frequency. When she’s singing, Radhika is moving at hers.
