The Amber Web
This is a collection of songs that just came to me over time and space. I am self taught so I play from the heart. I love all the naturalistic type instruments. Some of my favorites are the Didgeridoo, the Hapi Drum, The Mouth harp, and recently I am in love with the double Native American flute. I am particularly fond of simple wind instruments and drums. Natural sounds etc.. We are all works in progress. It doesn`t really matter where you are going, as long as you enjoy the ride. The Hapi drum is a relatively new percussion instrument. HAPI stands for "Hand, Applied, Percussion, Instrument" and they come in several different tunings. It looks like the bottom of a small propane tank with different size tongues cut into the surface that create musical notes when struck with the tips of your fingers. I like to use my D-minor (Akebono style tuning) and my E-minor (standard tuning) Hapi drums for this album, along with my long Home-made Bamboo Didgeridoo. I have 14 authentic Didgeridoos and I love the all but my Bamboo Didgeridoo has a room shaking deep tone and I just ended up using that one in these songs. I play every instrument on this album using multi tracks and I record in my office under very ruff conditions. I like the "Live" jam session sound so I don`t loop tracks. I play the songs live all the way through. Mistakes and all :) I also love the Chinese Mouth harp and Mongolian throat singing, Singing Bowls, etc.. If it`s strange I want to play it. I don`t think I sound like any other artists, if I do please let me know :)
