The Love Language
The Indianapolis performer came onto the scene in 2010 starring in roles on popular tv shows and films, currently being cast as a series regular on the Freeform show, Grownish. In between acting, he began his career in music releasing four projects over the last decade. This March, he released a new album entitled The Love Language. One thing that stands out to me with musicians is their decision to not have features on a project. A bold move, but appreciative as listeners can center on the musician’s artistry. Trevor Jackson’s The Love Language consists of 14 tracks of different vibes and slow jams. The album’s lead single, ‘Just Friends’ samples the popular Lil’ Jon song “Lovers & Friends” and flips it into a mid tempo hit. In comparison to his other projects, The Love Language shows a mature sound for the musician. His new single, “Get To You”, is a sensual slow jam that’ll sure to please fans. A highlight of the album is the different topics he discusses across the album that come together cohesively fitting the significance of the project’s title. Trevor Jackson’s The Love Language is a solid body of work that old and new listeners of the artist will enjoy. The 24 year old entertainer’s goal was to get people to understand their own love language in order for them to communicate them with someone else. He accomplishes this and more on the project creating some refreshing content to add to your playlists. I’m interested to see the growth continue in his musical career and expect to hear more things from him in the future. by:Drunken Karaoke
