Titelmelodie (From "Tatort") [Arr. R. Jannotta for Orchestra] [Live]
The „Tatort-Melodie“ – the exciting opening melody written by Klaus Doldinger as the theme tune to the German TV series „Tatort“ („Crime Scene“) - has been the programme’s lasting trademark and unmistakable identifying feature ever since 1970. Since that time, the joint production by ARD, ORF1 and SRF1 has been broadcast regularly, with over 1,100 "Tatort" films to date. In 2009, as an introduction to the opening of the Munich Film Festival in the city's Prinzregententheater at a gala concert entitled "Cinema in Concert", the title music was played in a symphonic version, performed by the Munchner Rundfunkorchester conducted by Ulf Schirmer. Founded in 1952, the Munchner Rundfunkorchesteris a BR orchestra dedicated, among other things, to high-quality light music. The film music concerts of the Munchner Rundfunkorchester have taken place since 2004, and are now a cult event. The BR-KLASSIK label is now releasing Klaus Doldinger's well-known "Tatort-Melodie" in a symphonic version arranged for orchestra by Roger Jannotta – digitally, and for the first time.
