Arriving hot on the heels of his latest EP for JEUDI Records titled “Fax From Mars”, his latest installment for Ya Hala Ya Hala showcases his singular vision – merging his unique ethos with rhythms and melodies driving tempos that demand listeners to lean in and participate. The ‘Trip to Bianya’ was laid out with the mindset of an upcoming journey to a spirit-opening destination. The steady bass-heavy groove and rhythm guitars are leaning in the direction of the soundscape of the 80s while the dark guitar pads and the oriental-like Moog melody are giving the tune a mysterious and exciting twist. The ‘Setting of the Sun’ was initially inspired by a visit to the legendary vibrant marketplace of Marakesch Jemaa el-Fnaa. It is a piece of driving percussions and storyteller chants reflecting this place full of soul and magic.
