Monument

Monument is one song that clocks in at about 35 minutes. It is divided into 5 movements, like those of a classical symphony, and each section blends seamlessly into the next. The character of the music is often mathematical and virtuosic as Diatessaron incorporates odd time signatures and interesting harmonies in their music. Even so, the sound never becomes hard for the listening ear to process, and manages to retain a level of immediate emotional punch usually present only in more mainstream genres. The lyrics, which bewail the use of atomic weaponry at the end of World War II, often make use of strange metaphors and unusual personifications to communicate ideas that would otherwise be difficult to express.
