The Solution
Styles1001 was born Dewitt Marcel Nunery in San Francisco, California. As an only child Styles spent a lot of time by himself listening to soul, R&B and funk, the mixture turned out to be some of the most influential music to him next to hip-hop. As an early fan of hip hop he remembers listening to Public Enemy, The Fat Boys and Whodini but it was the boom bap sound of the early 90’s that captivated him. A Tribe Called Quest, Pete Rock, NWA, De La Soul and The Pharcyde planted the seeds of hip hop into the heart and soul of young 1001. Styles' debut album entitled “The Solution” is a culmination of the musical influences and mood inspirations that have affected his perspective and driven him to create this eclectic music mix. It's the answer to the void left by the departure of in genius and creative beat making and the absence of consequential lyrics. Full of contemplative notes and a few melancholy ones Styles' pulls together the most dynamic emcees to cover his beats and meld them into this impressive collection. There are no skippable songs on "The Solution" from "Her Beauty" which represents the present day ode to hip hop in it's most natural state and not to forget something for the club the head banging, mosh pit inspiring anthem "We Run This" rounds out the album bringing it full circle. The first release and the track that best sets the tone for the adventure this album takes you on is "Everyday Life" which speaks to the plight and reality of the regular man today. Feature emcee Flow Montana attempts to educate the masses through his lyrics while Tamar infuses soul and compassion with her melodic accompaniment. With a soon to be released video and currently being played at radio stations throughout California "Everyday Life" is the starting line while the rest of the album just goes!!!
