This is a futuristic song written from the perspective of a character trapped in a cold, dystopian digital world stripped of feeling and meaning. The setting is a stark landscape in which screens and machines have taken over and robbed us of our humanity. The song is the character’s cry for connection- connection to self, connection to others and connection to a more forgiving, gentle and natural world. The production echoes contrasting worlds, with an industrial feel captured in the drums and beat and an organic feel captured in the whale-like synths.
