Westward
Since emerging with his 2012 full-length debut, Vancouver based singer-songwriter Joshua Hyslop has accumulated over 290 Million streams worldwide and has carved out an impressive diehard fan base. "I became a father for the first time at the very beginning of the pandemic," reflects Joshua about his new album "Westward." "Life changed pretty dramatically pretty quickly. Touring was off the table for the first time in 15 years and, although I was happy to be home with my new family, I felt lost and unsure how to proceed, musically. These songs were written in little moments. At 3 a.m., in my head, while I rocked my son to sleep. In the afternoons while he napped. Anywhere I could carve out 15 or 20 minutes. Quietly chipping away and largely sleep deprived, I suddenly had an album. Each of these songs, in one way or another, is about the journey, the expectations, the definition and the redefining of home. It's always evolving and that gives me hope."
