Lazer Strikes Back Vol. 6

Boom. Major Lazer has struck again! This time for the final time as they look to conclude their “Lazer Strikes Back” series with “The Last Chapter.” Yes, we’re sad to see it end, however it’s ending in style because volume six offers eleven stellar dubs, garage edits, and refixes from the likes of So Shifty and Mungo’s Hi Fi. M.L. has even gifted us an original amongst the madness titled “Smooth Sailing.” Diplo-led dance project Major Lazer are back with another instalment of their Lazer Strikes Back remix series, though this sixth volume appears to be the final entry. Subtitled The Last Chapter, the 11-track freelease is available now. Once again scouring the stems of Major Lazers 2013 LP Free the Universe, the mix features reworks from Mungos Hi-Fi and So Shifty. This includes a horn-heavy dub version of "Jah No Partial," the Moombahton rhythms on "Bumaye" and a distorted, 8-bit revamp of "Get Free." You can hear it all via the player down below. While this may be the end of the Lazer Strikes Back series, it was recently reported that Major Lazer have apparently roped in Pharrell, Sean Paul, Elephant Man and more for a new EP due in February.
