World Café

'World Café' by David Arkenstone explores several different rhythms and beats, from Old World to New mixes them together in a 'smooth jazz/easy listening' style that's entertaining and a nice listen. The bass guitar on the cd is a standout and generally puts the rest of the music on its shoulders and carries them along for the ride. This has a lot going for it but often falls back into old, repetitive habits. Arkenstone has a good thing going here and it'd be fun to hear more like this in the future from him. (John Green/amazon)
