The instruments involved are the sheng, yueqin, liuqin, zhongruan, piano, cello, bass, percussion, and human voices. A Root engages in ideological destruction and reconstruction relating to Taiwanese culture. Assuming the role of a storyteller, the band wanders the generic borders between traditional opera songs, jazz languages, and electronic sounds, merging the contemporary folk rusticity with local Taiwan dictions to create an islandic festival where humans and spirits from a different dimension of the world celebrate together.
