The Oddfather
Released as the rapper began a 39-month prison sentence on firearm charges, The Oddfather is produced exclusively by C4, one of the few distinguishing factors to separate from the Gucci Mane pre-prison mixtape/album/street release onslaught of 2014. Otherwise, this one comes in right below Trap House 4 when it comes to quality, although "Flight Risk" is a singalong bit of recklessness worth keeping, plus an odd boast seeing as the subject in question is already in cuffs. It's also interesting how the "Intro" comes right off the jailhouse phone, just like an old C-Murder cut, but party-minded rappers doing hard time don't sound as dire as the murder set, and the effect is that of a late-night call from a pill-head. This isn't pitiful, but it ain't profound either, so it's best to say goodbye to the incarcerated king of Gu-Wop with one of his more high-profile releases.
