Dillatroit
Twelve tracks of previously unreleased J Dilla tracks are set to be released on May 25 in the U.S. and June 12 internationally, according to Juno Plus. The late rapper’s mother, Maureen “Ma Dukes” Yancey, helped put Dillatroit together and the EP will be released on limited edition vinyl via Mahogani Music. Dilla, whose given name was James Dewitt Yancey, died in 2006 and is still regarded as one of the most important and influential producers in hip-hop. Ma Dukes currently runs The J Dilla Foundation, as well as the Yancey Media Group, both of which will be involved with this release.
