Inspired by a true story, The Boys Are Back stars Clive Owen as a man forced to become a better father after the death of his wife. Owen is being hotly tipped as an Oscar nominee in the role Guitar virtuoso Hal Lindes was a member of Dire Straits for five years and appears on their albums Love Over Gold and Alchemy. His career in film and TV composing includes Quicksand, Airport, Between The Lines and Band Of Gold The soundtrack features two tracks from iconic Icelandic band Sigur Rós who routinely reject most requests for film usage but made an exception after a mission by director Scott Hicks (Shine) to secure their music for the film Also features, “First Lady” of France, Carla Bruni’s sensous take on the standard You Belong To Me, Brit/Ivor Novello Award winning Elbow with their emotive song The Fix and Brit international award winner Ray La Montagne with All The Wild Horses Film opens in UK cinemas on January 22nd, 2010 “A selection of tracks by popular Icelandic band Sigur Rós adds emotional ballast and nicely complements Hal Lindes’ score” - best score, and playing guitar on Noah Francis' track 'Say You Love Me' being recorded at Mark Knopfler's British Grove Studio and produced by the legendary Chris Kimsey.
