I was lucky enough to stumble upon 'Desert Song' off Alice's first album 'For, Lovers, Dreamers & Me' whilst listening to a Corinne Bailey Rae radio on Pandora awhile back. I was immediately spell bound by that voice and purchased that album even before the song was over! Superb album all round. 'SHE' raises the stakes and boy does Alice deliver. This is music, no silly club bangers or anthem songs or rap guest appearances. Soulful and enchanting. Imagine Sade and Prince had a child. That child would be Alice Smith. I just really hope she makes an album with Citizen Cope next. I was lucky enough to hear them perform Cope's 'Sideways' together in DC. Mesmerizing! But I digress, if you are here looking at this review, you already know what good music is, buy this album!
