Tigerlily
From humble beginnings in Cranbrook, British Columbia, sisters (Lacey-Lee & Tasha-Ray) formed their first after-school band in 1997. Barely teens and under the original name "Tigerlily", their effortless song writing talent, coupled with strong musicianship, and dynamic harmonies soon found them signed to Maverick Records (2001) under the moniker "Lillix'. Lillix's debut album "Falling Uphill" was released in May of 2003. With help from hit singles;"Tomorrow", " "It's About Time" and a cover of The Romantics' classic "What I Like About You" (featured on the Freaky Friday soundtrack and co-stared Lindsay Lohan in the music video). Falling Uphill sold over half-a-million copies worldwide. Lillix extensively toured Canada, U.S.A and Japan (where their album achieved Gold status) earning a diverse and loyal fan base. In 2004, Lillix was nominated for two Juno awards "Best New Group" and "Best Pop Album" and won "Best New Group" at the Canadian Radio Music Awards. In 2006 Lillix released their sophomore album "Inside the Hollow with single Sweet Temptation voted as one of the "Top 100 Songs of 2006 in Blender magazine. Its infectious dance groove put it in heavy rotation on Much Music and MTV. Having paid their dues and persevered through a whirlwind of success, Lillix have taken time, gone back to those roots, and come out swinging. These fiercely independent and abundantly talented sisters are primed for attack with "Tigerlily" (in honor of their younger, more impressionable years). With the video for its first single "Nowhere to Run", (directed by Colin Minihan) and debuting on Much Music July 19th 2010, Tigerlily is clearly a coming of age album and arguably their best work to date. Incorporating a new sophisticated approach to their pop sensibility, a solid line-up at their back, and fans in-tow, Lillix's "Tigerlily" will be the boldest blossom of 2010 and beyond!
