Jill's Song
The time has come for rapper Dave Majesty to take his rightful place amongst rap music's A-list. This rapper has paid his dues in the Hip Hop Game, beginning in MechanicsTown Elementary School in Orange County, Middletown, NY back in the mid 80's. As he began middle school, Dave met and befriended the now Definitive Jux Recording Artist Chris Palko, AKA Cage. From that point on, Dave knew exactly what he wanted to do. As a teenager, he moved and settled in Englewood, NJ, home of the SugarHill Gang, where he met engineer/producer John Pretlor. Learning how to construct songs with tight hooks eventually led to a record deal with independent label Lawton Records, based in Teaneck, NJ. Although things didn't pan out as expected, it was an excellent learning experience for the rapper. Dave Majesty's style and passion bring a unique flavor to his music, which defies conventional definition. It's the type of music that talks about serious issues, such as the rapper's personal struggles with battling depression on a daily basis. He also paints a real picture of life in this world and the state of the human condition. His music is powerful, deep and strong. His goal is not merely to entertain, but to create music that is an experience to be remembered. Now living in Syracuse, NY, Dave Majesty just released his first Maxi Single, with the first song entitled "Jill's Song", featuring Ashley Cox. The song is dedicated to the memory of Jill Lyn Euto, a friend that was brutally murdered on January 28, 2001. The second track entitled, "Life is Hell" is a song featuring three premium local MC's, Seth Marcel, Doowittle and Taj Mahal. Dave is currently putting the finishing touches on his debut album, entitled "The Book of David", which will be released independently sometime in 2007.
