Note Worker

by Scott YanowFrank Gambale, best known as the guitarist in Chick Corea's Elektric Band, alternates between pop vocals and heated but largely forgettable fusion jams on his JVC CD. Gambale in the early '90s was not a strong enough composer to contribute all of the music to his own sessions (as he does here) and, despite some fine guitarwork and plenty of flashy fire, this is a lesser effort.
