No Parking on the Dance Floor
by Ron Wynn The greatest Midnight Star album, and a dancefloor and early '80s R&B/funk classic. The group found its niche with the silly hit "Freak-A-Zoid," and a nice, if lightweight, change-of-pace number in "Wet My Whistle." The title track was their third chart hit from the album, and "Electricity" did well as an album cut. The Calloways found the right balance between collective vocals, dance/funk arrangements, and a light fusion and instrumental pop touch in the charts.
