Wonderful
An exhilarating mix of pop, jazz, rock'n'roll, ska, rhythm and blues and a little bit of soul. All handled beautifully by the wonderful Linda Hall whose fabulous voice is both distinctive and adaptable to the creative arrangements on the 12 tracks on this album. Linda has been a favourite on the London scene for some time appearing with her own band and as part of "Richie Milton and the Lowdown". She can also be heard on movie soundtracks. One of those included in this collection is the moody and atmospheric "Life is Strange". Lindas rendition of "I'll Cry When it Rains" superbly captures the sixties sound of "The Ronettes" while the title track "Wonderful" conjures up the unforgettable vibe of seventies pop reggae. The string arrangements on both these tracks were by Steve King who also supplies rocking' tenor sax on "Tip of my Tongue" and "You Got No Sense" and creative soprano improvisation on "How Can We Ever Tell". This really is a "Wonderful" collection of tracks which should bring the talented Linda Hall the acclaim she rightly deserves!
