Nothing But Trouble
They say you have to suffer to sing the blues, play hard to do rock, and possess the wounded heart of an urban player to pull off soul, and Boccigalupe and the Badboys, straight out of the gritty musical history of Asbury Park, New Jersey fit that lofty bill. Fronted by legendary ASBURY rocker Tony Amato a.k.a Boccigalupe, the band epitomizes the determination and drive that great musicians feed off of to produce incredible live performances. Over the years, the band’s reputation for wailing guitars, full blast yet when called upon, sultry horns, keyboard wizardry, and primal pounding drums has not gone without notice. Whether it’s cameo appearances done by Boccigalupe with such musical greats as Gary U.S. Bonds, Willie Nile, Steve Forbert, or Joe Grushecky, Bruce Springsteen or with the band in full force performing in clubs nationwide, gigs at Atlantic City casinos, grabbing the covenant honor of helping Bruce Springsteen kick off his 15 day Giants stadium stand or accepting an invitation to close out the 2003 Christmas Show in Asbury Park, They have undeniably paid their dues. The new CD "Nothing but trouble" includes songs by The Boccigalupe and The Badboys, George Theiss (The Castiles) and William Katt ("Carrie" and "The Greatest American Hero") as well as a song co-written with Joe Grushecky.
