Hosanna
One of the most influential and brightest artist Reggae has ever seen "Sizzla". Sizzla was born in August Town - Kingston, Jamaica as Miguel Collins. A humble and observant person, but is aggressive against black oppression. As a person from the ghetto, he is conscious of the suffering of youths in the ghetto. Through his songs he teaches youths to uplift themselves and to respect women. Still relatively new on the scene, Sizzla seems to have appeared out of nowhere, yet the intensity of his lyrics, backed by a voice that is both robust as it is captivating, seems to put most audience under hypnosis. Just observe the phenomenon that occurs when any Sizzla is played in world dancehalls. Lighters flare up and people become entranced by the rhythm. It is truely an uplifting experience. His level of consciousness is baffling in light of his youth, but Sizzla is what the people want. He shows a wisdom beyond his years, and he sings out truth with a conviction of love, race, and empathy for the ghetto youth. He is the raw deal, and for this, he is accepted and admired. If you have ever witnessed his performance, you know Sizzla stays consistent at delivering tune after tune of consciousness and rightousness, as if he were attempting to cleanse us of ours sins.
