The Improvisation Series: Mosaic Phrases

It was 2007 in Athens. I became wonderfully aware of the power of improvisation and its healing effects, so I began recording any music that came to my heart and spirit, in my cellphone and in anyway I could. I would then use some of the recordings, depending on the Inspiration I had, to listen and sing with them and re-record them as part of an experiment. Mosaic phrases are exactly this. I recorded them while driving or reaching my various destinations in Athens and I kept recording and then singing on them. I loved the process and it freed an healed me. I compared it to a Mosaic which one puts into place a piece at a time and then one day the whole picture/design is revealed. And it is so close to the heart of the creator because every piece of the mosaic is consciously put there in its exact place. As it has always belonged there and it did. Each piece has found its home.
