Alpha Riff is an artist who loves telling stories, so it’s no surprise that his sophomore full length effort, Digital Champions: Migdal Bavel is a 23 track epic about a cybernetic bounty hunter, his A.I. partner, and the growing host of friends and foes they meet on their search to figure out how and why a lethal strain of C.O.D.E. is destroying everything in their world. What began as a simple bounty, described in Digital Champions: Bounty, an exclusive track featured on Nerdcore Absolution: Volume II, Alpha Riff and MZ come face to face with “The C.O.D.E.” (Centralized Object - Destructive Essence). The C.O.D.E. warps its recipients into C.O.D.E. Demons dead-set on devouring the pair. Grandiose, atmospheric tracks mix with hard hitting, metal influenced instrumentals and soaring, emotionally charged vocals to tell the story of a man, his machines, and the destiny they must ultimately face. And the story further expands in the Digital Champions trading cards, comic books, and mobile games. The art is evocative and the ideas challenge the normative. The battle is still being waged.
