The Breaking Point
Every so often an exceptional artist lurks beneath the shrouded depths of the underground world waiting for the perfect time to pounce into the spotlight with ferocity. At a time when society is tired of the monotonous sounds of today’s music and cries out for someone to break the barriers of the norm, one man stands to start a revolution. The cries have been heard, that is time is now and that man is Tha Advocate. As a dedicated artist, Tha Advocate has been rapping since 1997. In 2005 Tha Advocate turned this hobby into a more serious effort. He was born in Orange, New Jersey in 1983 and later relocated to New York where he spent most of his teenage years and then relocated back to New Jersey in the mid 2000’s. His life has been less than perfect and his passion for rapping has created a platform to confront his demons. Clever rhyme scheme, meter and simile’s reflect this “passionate” poet’s motive to resurrect his listener’s deepest and most intimate feelings about life, death and the everyday struggle. His sounds generate a tornado of thunderous ground shaking beats and silky but fiery lyrics interweaved with machine-gun quickness to fuse order and mayhem into one atomic ball of electricity. In addition, this multi-talented artist is arduously involved in every aspect of the production of his original beats, as well as the creation of each volume of the highly popular Digital Dynasty mixtape series and each episode of DDTV. As a producer, Tha Advocate has the ability to not only put his heart and soul into his lyrics, but into the creation of his music as well. He is also responsible for working extensively on the production of "Against The Wall" (the first debut retail album from Advo) and certain key songs off of his personal mixtapes, "Point Of No Return (Hosted by Remy Ma and DJ Bedtyme)", "Barmaggedon (Hosted by DJ Bedtyme 357) ", "The Breaking Point (Hosted by Big Lou, Doitall and Killah Priest), Sun Of S.A.M. “Ryde Out” and 2014’s "Designed To Be Signed" album, as well as a slew of other artists projects. Furthermore, he has been featured on many various projects and highly hit hiphop websites and magazines (Vibe, Music Connection). Advo has made several memorable appearances on radio and internet outlets throughout the United States and many music related TV shows and Dvds. In the summer of 2005 Tha Advocate released "POINT A" his debut solo mixtape. After moving thousands of mixtapes and receiving incredible reviews another project was in the works. In March 2006 Tha Advocate's debut album "AGAINST THE WALL" was released and also received incredible reviews, feedback and responses."Barmaggedon", "Point Of No Return", caught a lot of mainstream attention from established Hip Hop and music icons. And in 2011 the fire was still strong and blazing so Tha Advocate dropped his best mixtape to date, "The Breaking Point” and in 2014, exactly 8 years after his first album release, he finally unleashed his “Designed To Be Signed” album. Advo became partner of Mic Check Mixtapes in late 2006 with fellow emcee Underground. Since then they have released many critically acclaimed mixtapes with artists such as Sly Boogy, Domination and Bang Em Smurf, Remy Ma, DJ Bedtyme, Stat Quo, Killah Priest, Doitall and the list goes on. In 2008 Tha Advocate and Ballerstatus.com teamed up and created the "Digital Dynasty" mixtape series. Each mixtape has been a mainstream success. The mixtape series has gained over 1 million downloads since volume 1. Digital Dynasty has had a slew of hosts such as Hot Rod, Willy Northpole, The Alchemist, Chamillionaire, Crooked I, Stat Quo, Ransom, Hussein Fatal, Ras Kass, DJ Whookid, DJ Drama, Xzibit, Nore, 40 Glocc and Naughty By Nature, Siagon, Jaz O, Cashis, Sticky Fingaz, Cormega, Young Jack Thriller, Freeway, Vinnie Paz, Killah Priest, Cappadonna, Sadat X, Fredro Starr, Pharoahe Monch, Lords Of The Underground and Kurupt ( Co-Hosts for some of these projects include DJ Woogie, DJ Bedtyme, La The Darkman and Willie The Kid.). Not to mention a retail album titled "Digital Dynasty- The Album” was droped in 2010. Tha Advocate has also presented solo mixtapes with Mr Wise (from VH1's , I Love New York), Killah Priest, Doitall (from Lords of the Underground), Young Knoble from the Outlawz and The Garden State Greats. In Mid 2010 Tha Advocate and Ballerstatus created DDRNB (Digital Dynasty RNB mixtape series). The first volume was hosted by RnB legend Mike Bivins and since then Q Parker (of 112), Jon B, Sammie and Emanny have all joined the ranks of DDRNB hosts. Other then owning a mixtape series, producing and rapping, Tha Advocate also does a bit of "Journalism on the side". Advo has interviewed and worked with Lil Cease, Stat Quo, DJ Green Lantern, Chino Xl, Tony Sunshine, Star (from Star and Bucwild), Michael Bivins, Jon B, Pharoahe Monch, Fredro Starr, Treach and many more. The conducted interviews have been a staple in hiphop and an internet and radio sensation. In August 2010 Vibe Magazine wrote about Tha Advocate and Ballerstatus.com's mixtape series in the Nicki Minaj issue. In 2010 Tha Advocate released one of his album cuts "Where I Come From" which featured Stat Quo and Big Lou. Then Advo unleashed a huge remix to the song featuring Killah Priest, Willy Northpole, Sha Stimuli, Hussein Fatal, Big Lou, Stat Quo and Doitall (from Lords Of The Underground). After that came the street anthem, "When I Speak". That is the second cut off "Designed To Be Signed". "When I Speak" featured Raskass and Killah Priest. After a brief pause in releases Advo finally dropped the 1st single/video off DTBS called “Window Pain” and then followed up with the rapid fire single/video “Designed To Be Signed”. Advo has unleashed many music videos over the year and even started directing his own videos alongside Monstar Films (Best Friend, So Drained). Not to mention in 2013 Advo started the new “Mic Fights” segment on Ballerstatus.com and the DDTV (Digital Dynasty TV) as well, which showcases some of your favorite artists being interviewed by Advo himself. With a grind like this the sky is limit. The long awaited emergence of this extremely eclectic rapper slash producer is finally here. The barriers of the norm have been broken and the revolution has begun. The crown for the best un-signed artist will soon be held by Tha Advocate, the number one contender in the game.
