Shine

On behalf of the Archbishop Mitty High School community, I am pleased to share with you this most recent collection of music by Exodus. The primary focus of this student band, formed twelve years ago, is to provide engaging and inspiring music at school and community-wide liturgies. Thus, you will find in this collection several songs that we have played at various liturgies throughout the year. For those of you who are classic rock fans or who attended last year’s Black and Gold Gala, this CD will have special appeal. At the 2009 Black and Gold, Exodus joined with the Jazz Band to present “School of Rock,” featuring the best of classic rock, from The Who to Aerosmith. Some of the highlighted songs from that performance are reproduced here. Our school’s liturgical theme for the ’09-’10 school year was “Shine.” This song originally done by Collective Soul, serves as the title for this new CD. After listening to these talented and inspiring young musicians, I think you will agree that they, indeed, shine. Enjoy it!
