Misery Rich
In the tradition of Conway & Loretta, George & Tammy, Porter and Dolly... this album is all country. Album Dedication: For me, the passing of time and the eclectic mix of songs and lyrics that have weaved their way into my personal timeline, have without my consent or choosing, created my life’s “soundtrack”. I know I’m not alone in this; we all have our own personal “soundtrack”, each one as unique as our fingerprints. I believe that all senses and human emotions are tied to music in one way or another, and I choose to embrace the phenomenon. For me, it’s like watching a home movie with the emotions attached. When I hear Ricky Nelson’s “Travellin’ Man”, I find myself standing in my grandma’s kitchen smelling the fresh baked bread and strawberry/rhubarb pie… this makes me smile and delivers me true joy. When I hear Guns N Roses’ “Sweet Child of Mine”, I’m instantly transported to a moment in 1989 when my marriage proposal was rejected and my heart was broken… This reminds me of the reality of fleeting heartbreak. My first love is memorialized each and every time I hear The Eagles’ “Long Run”… emotions galore, but ALWAYS a bit of joy. I think we call it nostalgia. For Kimberly and I, this album is in many ways, OUR soundtrack for the past 2 years. Maybe not the lyrics themselves, or the meaning of the songs, but the HOW the songs came to be. Each song for us is a memory, a location, sights, smells… emotions. It is our hope, that maybe OUR songs will work their way into your personal “Soundtrack” and give you some joy, allow you to reflect and maybe even bless you in some way. Thanks to all of our fan, supporters, family and friends who allow us this life of music! God Bless You Everyone!! Bob Manning
