There, in between playing in her father's garden and going on scavenger hunts, Lilli developed a passion for classical piano at the early age of 3, marked by her frequent silent "air" performances (until the family acquired a piano) and a steady flow of compositions that had to be transcribed by her mother's hand. Largely self-taught, she became an accomplished student of classical piano and vocal performance. Still she found herself just as enthralled by the independent spirit of the town's musical anti-elite, which led her down the path to discovering her truly unique voice.
