Leilah Safka is the daughter of world renowned sixties singer, Melanie, whose credits include selling over 25 million records, singing at Woodstock, and having the #1 billboard hit, “Brand new key”. Leilah has been singing and touring with Melanie for the past several years. At the age of eight, Leilah had her first top 10 hit in Canada with the song “Grandma we love you”. She has been performing at places like The Bottom Line in New York City, as well as, The Bitter End also in Manhattan, where numerous legends like Billy Joel and Bob Dylan have performed. Artists such as Shaun Colvin and Melanie have gotten their successful careers off the ground at this well-known musical outpost. Leilah has performed shows with Melanie and Art Garfunkel; Nashville Showcases at places like Douglas Corner and Orlando at Universal Studios brand new City Walk attractions. She has performed shows at the new Hard Rock theatre in Orlando. Also look for an upcoming Vh1 show featuring Melanie with Lailah doing a medley of her top hits. Leilah has performed at Ruth Eckerd Hall with Bonnie Raitt as the headliner and also with Deana Carter at the same venue. Leilah has also played a show on the Levi`s stage before Jewel at the Coral Sky Amphitheatre in West Palm Beach, Fl.Leilah grew up singing backup with her mother on numerous albums, as well as, countless shows and tours. Their credits include singing with artists such as Bob Dylan, Arlo Guthrie, Dion, Mike Pinera (Iron Butterfly), Mickey Dolenz (The Monkees), Three Dog Night, Country Joe McDonald, Jefferson Starship, Ritchie Havens, Wolfman Jack, The Platters, The Coasters, and more. She has had live radio interviews on such stations as WXRK (K-Rock in NY), WMNF in Tampa, Clear Channel stations Star 95.7 and Marvelous Marvin on WFLA 970 and various others in Europe and the nited States.
