King and Captain

King and Captain came out of a place of hardship, surrender and seeking God. Early in 2016 Vanessa felt called to finally record some of her worship songs and to work towards an EP and album. Inspired by Christian songwriting greats such as Chris Tomlin and more recently Lauren Daigle, Jordan Feliz and For King and Country, Vanessa set out writing and recording the first installment which became King and Captain. Having had a previous career as a songwriter prior to becoming Christian stepping out and preparing for the EP and album has been an act of faith. Vanessa says "Gods call is sweet and persistent, so here I am doing what I thought was the impossible”. King and Captain is filled with classic sounds of strings, piano and lush warm vocals with pop elements heard in the beats and synths.
