The French TV series was created by screenwriter Marc Herpoux and director Hervé Hadmar starring Jalil Lespert, Simon Abkarian, Armelle Deutsch, Catherine Mouchet, Éric Ruf, Sara Martins, Yasmine Belmadi, Igor Skreblin and Hubert Koundé. The story is about Pigalle, the famous district of Paris well known for its variety of sex shops and burlesque entertainment places. PIGALLE, LA NUIT tells the story of Thomas (Jalil Lespert), a young executive from London, discovering during his journey in Paris that his sister (Armelle Deutsch) is a topless dancer in a strip club in Pigalle. She mysteriously disappears and Thomas starts looking for her while two clans battle to control the sex industry in the neighborhood. Éric Demarsan (Jean-Pierre Melville's L'Armée des Ombres aka Army In The Shadows and Le Cercle Rouge aka The Red Circle) has been working with Hervé Hadmar since TV series Les Oubliées in 2008 and recently on Signature in 2011. For PIGALLE, LA NUIT, Hervé Hadmar wanted something romantic, mysterious, nostalgic and above all « the color of night ». The great and marvelous saxophonist Archie Shepp joined them in this fabulous adventure. This edition includes the song Seventeen composed and performed by Ladytron, the British electronic band from Liverpool.
