Sugarshit Sharp (Explicit)
Review by John Dougan Both of these records, Groovy Hate F**k and Sugarshit Sharp, come highly recommended if only because, as EPs, filler is kept to a minimum. Groovy Hate F**k lives up to its title: it's a mess of a record thrown together by a bunch of bored kids who want to be as offensive as possible. On that level it's a near total success. Don't be shocked by the song titles (e.g., "Cunt Tease," "You Look Like a Jew," "Dead Meat"), simply enjoy the violent, sonic chaos they whip up. It's very energetic. Sugarshit Sharp is even better. Side one is a cover of Einsturzende Neubauten's "Yu Gung," side two is more death-grunge rendered with a maximum of noise and minimum of panache. But at under 30 minutes, it's free of a lot of arty-farty jerking around.
