Dance On The Blacktop
People, it takes lots a great people to make a record. You got to write the songs, arrange them, produce and record them , have them mastered , registered , packaged , marketed , all in hopes that the fans will enjoy it enough to support your efforts as an artist so you can ultimately do it again. We must give a shout out to the musicians that help make this CD the best one yet. Keith Robinson on the drum tracks laid out some solid grooves and did them from New York via technology. We were never in the same room together or the same state. Figure that out. Lenny Nichols on bass guitars brings his coolness and solidarity to the mix with Keith to create some hypnotic thick grooves that makes you want to get up and dance. John Bartlett on the keyboards with taste, patients, and well measured fills to color the landscape on "In Your Eyes" and the "Undertaker". Houston Wainer played his heart out on the fiddle parts with original counter melodies and sweet tones. Mighty Moe Monsarrat covered bass guitar duties on "Drunk" , " Lies" and "She's not a Baby" . Moe is an Austin all time favorite entertainer, well respected and well established in the music biz. He's been called the "jedi" of bass guitar. Tim Stelma published author of the "Happy Bay Book Series" is also a bad ass slide guitar player and friend of many years. Tim whipped up a little slide part for "Blame it on the Moon" with his typical swagger and attitude. Tim's brother Michael Stelma provided backing vocals on "Blame it on the Moon" with good cheer and the energy that the song deserved. With the exception of the slide guitar all other guitar parts , acoustics, electrics were under my care. I used a 71' model Gibson Standard SG , the 80's ES-347 Gibson Hollow Body , Fender Telecaster , Takamine acoustics and I managed to do the vocal tracks. Know auto-tuning or studio trickery was used in the making of this CD. It's all natural. If you give it a listen you'll know right away. See ya' in the Music!!
