Get Set, Love

song&stereo is singer/songwriter Tony Acevedo’s moniker for his rock/pop rock outfit, and his debut album “Get Set, Love” is a blend of rock and acoustic songs that deliver powerful melodies and thought-provoking lyrics. After spending time as a graduate student in history, Acevedo’s turn to music has produced a record where dynamic guitars, driving drums, piano, organ and a variety of other instruments meld together with passionate lyrics that bring to mind artists such as Jimmy Eat World and U2, but which carries it’s own uniqueness. Whereas many singer/songwriters in solo careers veer away from a “full-band” sound in favor of a strictly “acoustic artist” sound, song&stereo delivers both the edginess of harder rock songs and the refinement of acoustic tracks, and Acevedo recorded virtually all of the instruments. His songs touch on a variety of themes, but it especially seems that his historical consciousness has spilled over into socially aware lyrics.
