Savannah Berry came into the national spotlight as a member of Blake Shelton’s team on the fourth season of NBC-TV’s The Voice. But like most "overnight success" stories, there were years of dedication and commitment that came before. Savannah, now 20, has been performing live since she was 8 years old when she would join her grandmother on-stage to sing at Saturday night oprys in her hometown of Houston. In the sixth grade, Savannah created a YouTube channel and began posting videos of her favorite country songs. Surprised by a flurry of encouraging responses, she began taking requests and by 2011, with millions of views, Savannah was a bona fide “YouTube Star.” That same year, the Academy of Country Music and Dick Clark Productions also discovered Savannah on YouTube and invited her to perform a “video duet” with country music superstars, Sugarland. Savannah enthusiastically accepted and went to Nashville to sing “Stuck Like Glue” with Kristian Bush and Jennifer Nettles. The video was released a few weeks later as a promo spot for the ACM Awards telecast. Savannah was also invited to perform at the ACM Awards All Star Jam, which, as an unsigned artist is a very rare occurrence. In 2012, Savannah released her self-titled EP of original songs including “Cold October,” which won Honorable Mention in International Song Competition (ISC). She spent the remainder of the year working on The Voice. In 2013, shortly after her run on The Voice, Savannah was reunited with Kristian Bush when he agreed to produce her original Christmas song, “Silent Night Without You.” The song earned a “Grade: A” from Country Weekly, stating, “Savannah Berry has written and recorded an original Christmas song that transcends the holidays…dazzling…a vocal performance so driven by longing that you can only surmise that whoever’s not coming home isn’t merely delayed.” Written as a tribute to military families that are separated over the holidays, Savannah took the sentiment of the song an extra step when she joined together with Armed Services YMCA to advocate and raise money for its charities that support junior enlisted military families in need over the holidays. Savannah brought the message right to the troops visiting military bases and performing holiday concerts for them. The contest, which was sponsored by American Songwriter, Taylor Guitars and Wrangler, rewarded Savannah with a prize package that includes a featured role in Durango’s marketing campaign and a performances at the 2015 CMA Fest in Nashville. In addition, during the summer of 2015 Savannah joined the “Texas on Tour” line-up with performances all over the country.
