Flowers Falling (Deluxe Single)

ANASTASIA & TAIS are two classically trained music students who met while working in the gift shop at the Metropolitan Opera in New York City. They realized quickly that both had a love for opera as well as a passion for the contemporary pop and rock that they were hearing around them in their neighborhood of Williamsburg, Brooklyn – the heart of New York’s indie music scene. The two tracks on "FLOWERS FALLING"are a direct result of these multiple rich musical influences in their lives. "FLOWERS FALLING" is a unique combination of multiple musical genres, blending elements of classical music, opera, acoustic folk and pop. It adds new and modern lyrics in English to the timeless original French-language "Flower Duet” from the opera “Lakme”. This track is also accompanied by a revelatory modern string quartet arrangement, which is a complete departure from the traditional opera arrangement of this well-known duet. “THE FLOWER DUET (MORNINGSIDE CAFÉ VERSION)," is a more traditional vocal performance of the French aria. However, the arrangement of the song, which was inspired by artists such as Bon Iver and Jeff Buckley, features Telecaster guitars, acoustic guitars, and electric bass. It is more reminiscent of a performance at an East Village coffeehouse than an opera house. We hope you are swept away by both of these highly sensuous, romantic and evocative tracks.
