On the Live Music scene I'm known as J ROKKA From a very early age I studied many instruments starting with Violincello, working my way up to a professional level. I am filled with joy everyday as my musical career expands and gets more and more exciting with every new composition. I currently have releases in Cape Town Africa, Macedonia, France, Germany and England. My latest and biggest work to date is my Cello playing on Noel Gallagher's new single titled: Noel Gallagher's High Flying Birds 'Dream On' ... Its a single with an A & B side... Im playing cello on the B side titled: Shoot A Hole Into The Sun, Of Which I worked with 'Amorphous androgynous' (Gaz Cobain And Brian Dougans), They are known widely as.. ( The Future Sound of London).§ Testimonial From Gaz Cobain: "Jerome has that rare quality of being both open and inspirational, able to receive and translate ideas but also strong and opinionated when is required. He is a pleasure to work with and having produced and written music professionally for over 20 years (the Future Sound Of London/ Noel Gallagher / the Amorphous Androgynous to name a few) I quickly came to trust and value his input and opinion. He is an inspirational Cellist, great singer and has the distinction of being equally comfortable and authoritative behind the computer and producing/ mixing. it is this which sets him aside for me- I have never met someone who understands so implicitly the art of playing an instrument when coupled with the ability to collage the potential of the performance using the tools at his disposal into sonically interesting productions before- it is an art that I have learn't gradually over 20 years yet he has come to this understanding within several years so its frightening to think where this understanding will take him. Quite literally I think he can go into any avenue of music production and performance and I look forward to following his progress" Gaz Cobain ( the Future Sound Of London/ The Amorphous Androgynous ) Musician/Producer For professional studio production or a session cello or bass player contact Jerome O'Connell at jrokka@googlemail.com album cover design by Joshua Moore.
