Rejuvenate
Tomoque McClure, known as Que in the music world, was born April 9, 1993 in Sacramento, California. For Que, it didn’t take long to realize that writing would be an important part of his life. What started out as an outlet to express bottled up feelings of frustration quickly became a way for Que to be heard and inspire others. At the age of 12, Que began writing poetry, which lead to short stories and eventually those short stories turned into rhymes. Que defines himself as a lyricist whose mixtapes/album gives fans an inside look on his life and helps them understand him as an artist. Que is influenced by artists such as J. Cole for his slick word play, Kendrick Lamar for his rebellious style and intelligent strategic planning, as well as legendary Jay Z for being self-made and continuously grinding. Que first began recording in the studio at his high school, Hiram Johnson, and released “Untitled”, his first mixtape, December 4, 2015. He is now working on his second project titled “Rejuvenate”, which will be released January 28th. But, music isn’t the only thing Que wants to contribute to society, he is also currently a college student studying social science with dreams of one day giving back to his community by starting a youth program. Que also enjoys playing basketball, working out in the gym and spending quality time with family. With all that Que has going on, it makes sense that he lives by the mantra “if you don’t grind, you don’t eat”!. -Latrice Antoinette
