I Take You at Your Word
Jesus said to them, “Amen, amen, I say to you, unless you eat the flesh of the Son of Man and drink his blood, you do not have life within you. Whoever eats my flesh and drinks my blood has eternal life, and I will raise him on the last day. For my flesh is true food, and my blood is true drink. Whoever eats my flesh and drinks my blood remains in me and I in him.” ……... “Does this shock you? What if you were to see the Son of Man ascending to where he was before? It is the spirit that gives life, while the flesh is of no avail. The words I have spoken to you are spirit and life. One place in particular was the porch of the El Tovar as I watched people try to photograph the Grand Canyon. ~ There is no way to capture the grandeur in one photo any more than I could capture the fullness of God… yet in the simple appearance of bread & wine having become Him at His word, He enters me fully. Then in one single drop of His precious blood my soul is utterly inebriated by the fullness of Him in my being. I am grateful to God for bringing together some exceptional people to take my simple songs and turn them into pieces with enough beauty to honor our Lord Jesus Christ……
