Cosmonova

Le Prixs Cosmonova is the first official release on Girlfriend Records. The track was teased via a 45-second clip in mid-2011 to the delight of fans who had seen GFR grow from a fledgling collaborative to a legitimate force in the realm of electronic music. Like much of the labels output, Cosmonova recalls the soundtracks of 1980s science fiction films (picture Akira meets Bladerunner). Likeminded peers FM Attack and Johnatron put their own spin on the tracks remixes. The release functions as a sort of mission statement that dictates what to expect from this label in the future: plenty of hypnotic and reverb-drenched sounds that take the listener to an entirely different place and time.
