The album begins with "Oh, What a Beautiful Morning" from Oklahoma! and culminates with the famously uplifting "Climb Ev ry Mountain" from The Sound of Music sung by Grammy-award winner Joyce DiDonato. Rodgers & Hammerstein at the Movies debuted at number 17 on the Pop Album charts in the UK amongst releases from Coldplay and The XX. The album has shipped over 29,000 units becoming one of the top selling Classical releases of 2012 in the UK. Composer, arranger and conductor John Wilson is one of the world s leading experts on the music of Hollywood and Broadways Golden Age. In addition to his touring with his own orchestra, he has worked closely with Sir Paul McCartney, and also arranged and conducted the music for the Kevin Spacey film Beyond the Sea. Rodgers & Hammerstein at the Movies is his second recording with EMI Classics.
