It's impossible to believe that the 14 tracks contained on L Tunes really are "from and inspired by The L Word," especially since many of these songs ? take the Nina Simone cut "Do I Move You," recorded in the 1960s, for a glaring example ? were recorded long before The L Word was even a dream. That doesn't take away from what's here, but it does misrepresent the music. These are great tracks by and large, from love songs to call-you-out indictments of infidelity, lack of attention, and what have you. There are rockers from Peaches and PJ Harvey, electronic tracks by Goldfrapp and the Prototypes, a ballad from Tori Amos, and urban tracks from Kelis and Da Brat. Misrepresentation or not, this is a great collection of cuts.
